My Happy Place

Updated: Apr 12, 2022

First of all, I wanted to welcome you into this crazy adventure and of course, thank you for taking some of your time to read this! I never thought I would be starting a blog one day, but I guess I just had to find the right moment, inspiration, and motivation to write.

So let me introduce myself a little bit.

My name is Madison, I was born in a small city in southern France call Béziers, one of the oldest cities in France. I was raised on a farm surrounded by horses, goats, chickens, and sunflower fields. When I was 8 years old my parents decided to move the family to south Florida (Plantation to be more precise). When I was 18 I moved to the University of Georgia, but unfortunately, it did not go as well as I thought it would, I never found my place there so 3 years into my marketing degree I decided to continue my degree online and to move to a small town near Sevilla, Spain. I was working for a horse trainer and embedded in my grandparent's culture which helped me find a little piece of me that was missing. I stayed there about 7 months before I moved back to my hometown in Southern France. It was time for me to settle down, start a carrer, find happiness and peace.

"I guess we always find a way back to our roots even if it's a long journey."

So here I am starting a life in a place I always cherished, located between sea and mountains where the ocean breeze keep our summer night cool and where the northern winds clears the skies in cold winters. I feel fortunate to be where I am today and thank my parents and the people that have been there for me.

A New Career

Back in December a friend of mine told me,

"Hey look I found this property near your parents' house"

And without really thinking anything I said

"Send it to my parents, they might be interested". I wasn't expecting anything back from them because they already had a lot of stuff on their plate. But surprisingly, they asked to visit the property on sale.

HOME at First Sight

One week later we were on our way to visit the property. We arrived and parked the car in front of this huge white authentic gate with stone pillars on both sides of it; it was like heaven on earth. When the gate opened we saw a huge courtyard, on one side of it was a pool encircled by green luscious grass. And on the other side stood a huge "French-style", country house.

H-O-M-E.

(I'll take you inside the house in future posts)

The house was surrounded by well-designed rows of healthy vineyards. The property produced its wine. Everything was so well taken care of and so clean. So this property was not just a house and some land, it was a whole business and after we were done visiting my parents asked me are you interested in buying a property like this? I was like uhhmmmm for a very long time. I knew it was a place I wanted to be because it just felt right when we were there, but it was such a big responsibility and I didn't know anything about wine or how to run something like this. But I knew I would be well surrounded by people who I could count on. So I said Yes to the vineyard and much more! It was as if a little voice in heart told me "You can do this, come on!"

So in this Blog. . .

I want to share with you my journey through this exciting new life. I want to talk about creating a HOME and building a cozy environment where one day I can see my children grow. I want to share my cooking secrets, my love for equestrian sports, and my passion for growing a vineyard.

So let let the journey begin. . .
